In Recognition of His Support and Efforts to Develop Independent Films
In recognition of his efforts in supporting and developing independent filmmaking in Egypt, Producer and Scriptwriter Mohamed Hefzy was honored in the 2nd Independent Art Season as part of the celebration hosted by El Hanager Arts Center on Wednesday, February 5th, 2014.
Hefzy was honored in the ceremony presented by prominent actress Salwa Mohamed Ali, who took part in several independent films. The event was attended by Director Azza Al Hossiny, Mohamed Abul Khair ,Head of Cultural Production Sector in Egypt's Ministry of Culture and Scriptwriter Sayed Fouad, Head of the Young Independent Artists Association, the season's organizer. Several filmmakers were honored during this year's edition such as great veteran actress Yousra, who was also chosen as the Honorary President of the festival, acclaimed actor Khaled Abol Naga, and the great late actress Zahret El Ola. The 2nd edition of Independent Art Season was especially dedicated to the late actress Fatma Roshdy.
The 2nd Independent Art Season includes many fields such as theatre, cinema, fine arts, music, and singing. The season extends to 100 nights with shows presented by more than 30 independent theatrical teams and ten musical bands, in addition to independent films competition. The events of the season take place across five governorates: Cairo, Alex, El Minya, Assiut, and Luxor.
